Hungary - Settlement reconstruction
Settlement reconstruction based on the excavation of Füzesabony-Gubakút. The local Neolithic population settled firstly and decisively on the plain and, similarly to the people of the Körös culture, maintained themselves primarily through the agriculture, by cultivating plants and keeping animals. The archaeo-zoological analysis of some excavated sites clearly showed that among the animal bones, the remains of domesticated animals (mainly cattle and the sheep) reached the 92-96 % ratio, as such it would appear that wild species just supplemented the diet. Thanks to the archaeobotanical investigations of the soil samples from Gubakút we know that mainly barley and wheat were cultivated.
